Introducing Career Connections
We’re proud to launch Career Connections, a new Mentor/Mentee program for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) members from the PRSA Northeast District.
This district-wide initiative bridges the gap between the classroom and the boardroom—connecting experienced PRSA professionals with PRSSA members, students who are interested in the communications field, and early-career practitioners preparing to enter the field.
Through one-on-one mentorship, mentors have the chance to share insights, provide career guidance, and help shape the next generation of public relations leaders.
Requirements to participate in the program include (but are not limited to) dedicating at least one hour per month meeting with your mentor/mentee in a format of your mutual choosing (in-person, online or over the phone). We encourage mentors and mentees to meet and communicate as often as their schedules and interests allow!
Once the connections are made, we will occasionally offer suggestions on how to make the most of the mentoring relationship by checking in periodically to see how things are going and offer guidance if needed.
Career Connections is more than a mentoring program—it’s an investment in the future of public relations in the Northeast and beyond.
By participating, you’re helping build a stronger, smarter, and more connected professional community—one relationship at a time.
Mentor Application (now open) Deadline: Friday, September 4
Mentee Applications Open: Tuesday, September 8
Mentee Application Deadline: Friday, September 18
Match Notifications Announced: Late September/Early October 2026

We’re currently seeking PR professionals who want to make a lasting impact by providing guidance, and insight, while offering support to foster the mentee’s development. Whether you’re offering advice on landing that first internship or helping chart a long-term career path, your experience and perspective are invaluable.
Mentors with the APR credential can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through this program. Click HERE to learn more about Accreditation.
