Molly McPherson Announced as the PRxNE Keynote Speaker
Crisis communications expert and TikTok star Molly McPherson will deliver the keynote address at tis year’s PRxNE Conference, to be held on Friday, November 3 at St. John Fisher University.
The theme of this year’s conference, “PR With a Purpose: The Future of the Profession,” will provide communications professionals from across the northeast the opportunity to explore the latest industry best practices, knowledge share with colleagues and establish new connections within the industry.
During her keynote, McPherson will share strategies and tactics that companies can use to defend their reputations against viral social media crises. McPherson served in the external affairs office at the federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) where she introduced the agency’s first digital media efforts in response to the public backlash from the hurricane Katrina response. As director of communication for the Cruise Line International Association in Arlington, Virginia, she handled the official media responses to maritime security during the 9/11 attacks and the norovirus outbreak on cruise ships in 2002. She is the host of the Indestructible PR Podcast, best-selling author of the book Indestructible Racism Control and respond with Confidence in a Media Crisis, and creator of a popular TikTok account that makes PR crises easy to follow and easy to avoid. this year she wasAdweek’s Creative Visionary Award Winner as the Careers Creator of the Year.
